The House of Deputies informs the House of Bishops that on Jul 8, 2022 it considered resolution D015 (A Resolution to Adopt the Emmett Till Antilynching Act). The house acted to:

Take No Further Action


Resolved, the House of Bishops concurring,

That this 80th General Convention of The Episcopal Church hereby direct and encourage that the United States Senate in the strongest possible terms to promptly pass The Emmett Till Antilynching Act in substantially the form passed by the House of Representatives; and be it further

Resolved, that this 80th General Convention direct, consistent with established policies and procedures, that the Executive Council refer this Resolution to the Office of Government Relations, so that it may take all actions necessary to accomplish the intentions and purposes of this Resolution.
