Resolved, that the House of Bishops of the 80th General Convention of The Episcopal Church, gathered in Baltimore, Maryland, conveys its deep affection, utmost gratitude, and thanksgiving to Mr. Mark J. Duffy, SAA Fellow, for his thirty-year ministry as Canonical Archivist of the Episcopal Church and as Director of The Episcopal Church Archives; and further recognizes his instrumental role in expanding the holdings of the Archives and establishing its website, digital archive, and social media platform in collaboration with a small but devoted and dedicated staff and the Board of the Archives; and further gives thanks for his efforts over the past decade to envision and secure a new permanent home for the Archives, and in the last year his efforts in overseeing the transfer of the Archives to a temporary location in the midst of a worldwide pandemic; and further extends the best wishes of the Church to him on his retirement from a ministry carried out with exemplary dedication, energy, grace, humor, integrity, prayer, knowledge, and skill.
