D082 Addressing the High Rates of Missing and Murdered Indigenous and All Women and Girls of Color

Resolved, That the Episcopal Church recognizes the neglected epidemic of missing women and girls within the population of indigenous and all women and girls of color and views with alarm that the incidence of missing women and girls continues to grow; be it further

Resolved, That the Episcopal Church recognizes the detrimental effects and suffering that results from the disparity of attention and care directed towards indigenous and all women and girls of color; and be it further

Resolved, That The Episcopal Church commends the recent efforts taken by the government to bring awareness to and address the issue of missing and murdered women and girls; and be it further

Resolved, That congregations and dioceses learn about this important issue and engage in related local and state advocacy; and be it further

Resolved, That the General Convention directs the Office of Government Relations to support legislation directing the federal government to address gaps in care, protection, and data collection meant to address the high rates of missing indigenous and all women and girls of color.
